Veritrap – DPF Substrate Integrity Test
Veritrap is Ceramex’s proprietary test method for assessing the structural integrity of the ceramic substrate within Diesel Particulate Filters (DPFs). Designed as a non‑destructive diagnostic, it ensures DPF reliability and compliance throughout its service life.
How Veritrap Works
- Veritrap injects a controlled stream of benign particles into the DPF
- The test measures whether particles under 10 µm penetrate the substrate—indicating cracks or filtration failures
- Any deviations from expected threshold values triggers a fail result, alerting technicians to possible internal damage
- This method offers precise substrate integrity validation without damaging the filter; optimal for operators prioritising performance and compliance
Benefits for Heavy‑Duty Applications
Veritrap delivers invaluable assurances across heavy‑duty industries; construction, agriculture, maritime, power generation, rail, and on‑road.:
- Confirms DPF substrate integrity for rigorous duty cycles and extended lifespans.
- Supports fleet maintenance programmes with minimal downtime.
- Enhances reliability for OEMs and operators using DPFs in harsh or high‑load environments.
- Prevents unplanned operational failure by flagging early substrate damage.
Part of Ceramex’s Patented Diagnostic Suite
Veritrap complements Ceramex’s patented technologies—including Xpurge® (DPF cleaning via purified water and air), Veritex® (light‑based post‑cleaning internal imaging), and Vericat™ (catalytic coating efficiency testing). Together, these tools form an industry‑leading emissions system diagnostics ecosystem. (hyperlink the underlined)
Traceable Performance Assurance
Every Veritrap analysis is logged and stored, establishing a comprehensive digital record for each filter. This enables:
- Long‑term monitoring of substrate health
- Predictive maintenance planning
- Compliance reporting and warranty validation
Veritrap ensures that only structurally sound filters return to service after cleaning, aligning with Ceramex’s 95%+ performance promise
Vericat® – Catalytic Efficiency Testing for DPFs & DOCs
Vericat is Ceramex’s advanced offline performance test for evaluating catalyst efficiency in both Diesel Particulate Filters (DPFs) and Diesel Oxidation Catalysts (DOCs). Using borescope inspection technology, Vericat® enables operators to detect performance degradation that may have occurred during service, ensuring continued compliance and reliability.
How Vericat Works
Veritex® is a patented optical technique using light to examine the filter throughout its length. The Veritex Light identifies holes in end-plugs or walls and large cracks in substrates and Veritex® InfraRed identifies blocked pores by heating end of substrate.
The test assesses the unit’s ability to convert pollutants as per OEM catalyst efficiency specifications, comparing against a new standard.
Any reduction in catalyst performance is clearly identified—enabling timely maintenance or replacement. This method offers non-destructive verification without dismantling or damaging the filter substrate
