International market leader in Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) remanufacturing, Ceramex, has strengthened its senior management team with two new appointments as the company further increases its DPF remanufacturing capacity in 2022, in response to rising demand.

Former Operations Director, Barney Milles, has been promoted to the role of Managing Director and Mike Foster joins the business as Head of Customer Service.

Following its relocation to a brand-new, 67,000 square-foot facility in Reading, which came on-stream during 2021, Ceramex is now able to process more than 2,000 DPFs per week, from trucks, buses, off-highway vehicles and diesel-powered industrial equipment. Representing an investment of more than £3 million in the company’s long term future, Milles anticipates a significant uptick in volumes in 2022, as demand ramps up.

He commented:

“Even before the pandemic, tighter EU emission controls meant that the demand for cleaning and remanufacturing of commercial DPFs was on a steady upward trajectory. Ceramex is now seeing volumes returning to pre-pandemic levels, due in part to increased logistics fleet activity. We expect further growth over the next few years, so having our new facility fully operational, that’s also recently achieved IATF16949 certification, demonstrates our commitment to continual improvement and service excellence for our OEM customers.”

With scientific studies showing a significant decline in air pollutants during the pandemic, there is a continued emphasis from the government and local authorities on improving air quality. By upgrading its remanufacturing capability with a major investment in new infrastructure, that includes its patented cleaning and inspection process, Ceramex has ensured that customer vehicles remain environmentally emission compliant, as they continue to provide essential haulage and public transport services.

Commenting on his appointment, Mike Foster, Head of Customer Service, said:

“Helping customers to achieve renewed momentum in the wake of the pandemic will be a major focus of my new role at Ceramex and I’m very pleased to be joining the team at an important time in its growth strategy.”

Ceramex is a leading international supplier of patented DPF cleaning, remanufacturing and inspection services with operations in Europe, North America and Japan. Customers include some of the world’s leading companies in the truck, off-highway and marine sectors. The company holds IATF16949 certification, as well as ISO9001 and ISO14001.

Ceramex is a subsidiary of Hexadex, a privately-owned group of engineering companies based in the UK.
